Creating and Adapting Materials

Throughout the years, MIPH has become adept at creating new materials and/or modifying existing ones. We pride ourselves on employing strategies that are evidence-based and real-world tested in order to provide the highest quality prevention and health promotion resources. We develop materials that promote healthy behaviors. Prevention professionals and others throughout the United States purchase and distribute them with great success, finding them an effective supplement to their efforts.

MIPH offers customization services on many of our products. By having us include your organization’s name and contact information on our posters or other materials, you raise your organization’s visibility along with your potential to reach more people as they will realize that the message comes from a nearby organization, agency or school. MIPH applies commercial marketing strategies to attain public health objectives. Social marketing shows participants how to combine communication arts (how to say it) with public health science (what needs to be said).

MIPH has experience in curriculum development to create dynamic learning opportunities and professional development on a range of topics including substance abuse prevention, diabetes prevention (Turtle and Crane), lead safety (Lessons in Lead) and problem gambling (Table Talk, Improving Your Odds). A specific example is the Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist Training (SAPST). Here we provide pre-service or in-service prevention personnel with up-to-date research and methods in the prevention field and to contribute to the development of professionally trained substance abuse prevention specialists.

MIPH has a fully equipped, state-of-the-art center making it possible for us to design our own pamphlets, booklets, newsletters, fact sheets, conference programs and more.
